i am confident that this could make you cooler

i know many of you prefer zebra over leopard and his cousin, cheetah..

that doesn't make you less cool.

but if you just don't like leopard well then i think you need to ask yourself...

why am i such a douche?

i think if you put a little leopard in your house you would see how right i am.

i mean, even a little pillow somewhere would make that room (and you) more awesome.

these chairs are pure joy..

not necessarily in the room they are in now but in a room like this:

katie armour (the neo traditionalist) became cooler once she had a simple chair covered in it:

this little bench takes this room from awesome to awesomer:

aerin lauder did her whole fucking couch in it...

her smile says it all.."look how awesome and cool i am sitting on my leopard couch"

maybe you aren't convinced that leopard can be modern..

yes it can..

it can even be mid-century modern..

miles loves it...

he loves it best mixed with patterns..

and he is mayor of awesome city.

he even puts it on the floor sometimes..

only the mayor would do that...

the mayor probably would not put it on the floor AND the chairs...

that's just offensive.

i think you should get some leopard in your house as soon as possible.

you can start with some pillows...

or you could be bravesies and do this:

that is just badass.

BADASS I TELL YOU!!!

and while we're on the subject- christmas is right around the corner and so is me'birthday..

"yes please":

and "ohhh you shouldn't have!!" (yes you should):

"wait MFAMB!!!! not so fast!!

where the fuck is your house leopard??!!"

says all of you.

busted.

i do not have any.

but wanting some puts me on the cool train to cool town.

and as soon as i find some rich, velvety leopard i will use that shit post haste.

trust.

I love me some Leo-pard. But I also really love me some cheetah. I think its because I am such a b.spears fan...I am not so much enamoured of the Zeb-ra. Either way I want to live in any town that Mayor Redd is the head of so I am hopping cheetah makes me cool enough to at least live in its burbs.

love this post cause I couldn't agree more. Leopard is a neutral in my world. If I had the bucks... wall to wall carpet of leopard and throw in a mirrored wall whilst we're at it!

So badass. I am usually of the belief that this should be done in small
doses, BUT I am all over the rug application and Lauder's couch. In fact, I want to be Lauder in that dress, lounging on that sofa, in that hot-as-hell room. Oh, and the fireplace--Sizzlin'!

oh hell yes!!!!!
i'm sittin' next to you on that cool train -- want it bad; don't have it....YET.
and if ms. lauder ever gets sick of her couch, she can send it to moi!

I am just putting a post together on leopard as well- I have a leopard coat that was gifted to me from my great aunt and I want to turn it into an ottoman-turns out if I crossed the border with the coat, it would be taken away so ottoman it is- I want to be ms. lauder on that couch.

FUCK. Why AM I such a douche??

October 25, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAmanda

ooo my birthday is this week and I could use a leopard coat to make me cool.

side note: is that a grown woman holding that purse, my arms are bigger than her thighs.

I have exactly four beaded leopard coasters from Kim Seybert and have thusly escaped today's definition of douche-iness.

PHEW!

I just want to tell you this morning how much I love you and your blog. You make me laugh. You have the best design photos around. I even love your pancake cooca stories. So thank you.

where's the "mid century" pic you showed from? love that.

and I also have leopard carpet in my bedroom. love it. beautiful, practical too -- doesn't stain or show traffic patterns.

If you were here right now I would kiss you right on the mouth!! I have been looking & looking for a fabric to make a lumbar pillow for my bed & haven't found anything that will work. It never occured to me to use an animal print.
It would be perfect. Thank you Thank you Thank you for this post!!!!

i just found your blog and i'm lovin it, so different than the rest. it had me crackin up. oh and i guess i'm a big fat douche. i can't get with it, although i do have a pair of leopard print shoes...does that count?

October 25, 2010 | Unregistered Commenteralison@semi-fab lane

Well, I'm climbing on the train. I have some tiger silk velvet recently given to me by my MIL. Does that make me a teensy less douchey?

October 25, 2010 | Unregistered Commentersusie q

Totally agree! I have the bag and shoes covered (2 pairs) and wear them often, never together of course! But nothing in my house...and yet I've wanted something covered in it for years...need to really work on i!.

I much prefer leopard to zebra. Dare I admit to having a leopard rug in my bright pink boudoir? It's true!

October 25, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMackenzie {Design Darling}

I remember growing up my friends parents carpeted their entire house in leopard print rugs, and i was so amazed at how well it went with everything. And so amazed at how cool her parents were!

I'm jealous of some anybodys who have that shit wall to wall or covering a sofa. All I'll be able to muster is a few yards of the Scalamandre Leopardo and Le Tigre silk velvets. The first for a couple of kidney pillows on my redid blue velvet chairs and the latter for a thrifted bench in my bedroom. At the zaftig price, even on eBay, I'm having to live with pictures of it on the furniture until I'm able to pilfer it from the outdoor furniture budget or the hubs gets tired of seeing it on his eBay watch list and buys it nnnnnoowwwwwwwww.

I'm a half-doucher, I guess. I (like that other alison who commented) have a pair of leopard flats. I wore them last week with navy stripes, and felt oh-so-French (yeah, right) BUT I'm definitely douchin' it as for my casa. Need to coolify myself, fo sho!

October 25, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMyLittleHappyPlace

the fireplace kicks some arse!

October 25, 2010 | Unregistered Commentervisualbenz

I'm not crazy about animal prints but do like leopard the best and last year I found the softest throw with a leopard print on it that I felt just had to be added to my living room. It does add a little edge. I liked it on the floor and as seat covers...not sure about a couch. I think you definitely need that purse though.

October 25, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterNita@ModVintageLife

I am SOOOOOOO in love with leopard. Breathing heavy here...

October 25, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterDonnaDal

Hahaha, thank you for the shout out. I'm glad you like my chair. It was my great grandmother's and the leopard print fabric is actually an old Ralph Lauren sheet---keeping it classy.

xx Katie

I have a serious leopard problem. Clothes, House stuff. It can do no wrong. Even in large doses (like sitting on a lepard chair in leopard cardigan). Leopard is the new black.

October 25, 2010 | Unregistered Commentererin @ elements of style
