but i imagine it feels like winning.

don't forget you can vote every 24 hours.

if you felt like making sure i get a million votes which would take me from top design blogging mom to queen khalessi of design blogs.

anyway...thanks.

i chose denver bc it's the capital.

thanks donkeys.

saturday was all about the food

my back felt better.

so i cooked.

such a rookie move.

but LOOK AT THE DELICIOUS FOOD WE ATE!!!

in season, fresh dover sole..

flour, salt, pepper.

brown butter..

sauteed then finished with lemon zest and juice.

hardcore.

recipe

grilled cabbage and yellow squash with a spicy thai vinaigrette.

so flavorful.

it was honestly the best part and i could have eaten just it.

recipe

wild blackberries growing on the side of my house.

tossed in some sugar, flour and vanilla.

butter crumbles.

flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt and one stick of butter.

nestled on top of the berries, ready for cooking.

375 for 45 minutes.

last 5 minutes brolied for crispness...

caramelized goodness.

it was like one of those crisp, lacey cookies on top with a buttery, gooey vanilla ooze underneath.

and the tang of the tart berry mixed in made it so perfectly balanced.

just add vanilla ice cream.

i want to float down a river of ice cream.

me and my diarrhea dairy tendencies meant only one spoonful of the stuff.

but it was just enough to creamify everything in my mouth.

it was heaven.

OH!

and we watched the 1st and 2nd episodes of game of thrones!

or as i like to call it

game of incest and butt sex.

do you watch?

there are a lot of boobs.

clearly we haven't gotten past the 13yo boy phase of this show.

every scene mike and i are just about to touch our privates...

but then someone gets their head cut off and their intestines gutted.

it's awesome.

(i made up the crisp recipe so if you want specifics just holla in the comments section- it's gluten free but you would just swap out GF for AP if you wanted it the regular way)

piss poor

sorry guys.  this post is going to disappoint (what else is new?)...

but

i am for real laid up like a donkey who got kicked by a donkey.

i have been having some back issues (upper middle if you're wonderin) since about december.

they come and go.

worse after a work out..

anyway..

i have been living with it just fine (i mean it sucks but it's been manageable)

until today.

MOTHERFUCK!

i woke up and thought..this is it.

i am going to die today.

i drove myself to the end of the street to a chiropractor.

seriously he is right at the end of my street.

after some poking and prodding..

he tells me i have subluxation or some such thing.

and cervical misalignment.

go figure.

that's what pushing out a 9 pounder shoulders first will do to you.

i got to go for a ride on a table that moved me back and forth over a massager which was awesome.

if i had turned over it would have been REALLY awesome.

and i got cracked and popped and stretched (a little less awesome).

i was better for about 10 minutes.

now it just feels the same if not worse.

i have to go back for an x ray on monday and am supposed to take it easy all weekend.

gee...darn.

so all this to tell you that i have nothing to post.

except go make these shorts:

bc they are just too cute not to.

HERE.

anyone else have back issues that they care to share?

any tricks i need to know about?

and remedies that work for you?

and did the chiropractor do his thing?  i mean is it supposed to get worse before it gets better?

appreciate ya.

have a great weekend.

fartluxation,
