this is worth every second of it's (nearly) 5 minutes.
have an awesome weekend.
sorry for the late post (not sorry)..
i was just auditioning for an oscar winning french director, NBD.
it's secret like so i can't say who and all that... but it goes without saying that i diarrhea'd down my leggings.
anyway...
have you guys heard about the pin it to win it thing from 1stdibs?
in a nutshell you create a pinterest board called 'living with style'..
then you start pinning all of your ideas for the perfect living room using at least 3 items from 1stdibs.
then you can pin whatever you want.
here is the entry form.
here's my pinterest board (don't steal my shit).
i put together some of my pinned items to create my idea of living room heaven..
the winner get's $2,000 in 1stdibs money.
do you think i can buy a velvet sofa with my winnings?
maybe a velvet ottoman.
maybe an old pair of shoes.
well folks,
thanks to all of you surfers and ex surfers and sisters of surfers i learned that
surfboards are way too disgusting to keep in your house because they are full of sand and wax and smell of the ocean, i.e. a dead hooker.
thanks for keeping me straight.
filled with a fire-hot thirst for knowledge (not really)..i went on a search for the paint color in charlotte moss's office featured in lonny...
because it is just so pretty and it is going to look just so perfect in my dining room.
no amount of googling was working.
lonny wouldn't tell me either.
so i emailed charlotte moss no big deal.
i was pretty certain i wouldn't hear back..
but i was wrong.
a friendly fellow named matthew emailed me back with the answer.
it is..
benjamin moore salisbury green #hc-139.
so now we all know.
what are your thoughts on the color?
i think it's mysteriously green.
not too aqua not too blue not too green.
samples will happen.
stay tuned.
also happening..
this:
it's going in the dining room and it will solve so many storage issues for me.
i am anxious to see the finish in person.
the listing says it's black lacquer.
hmm.
don't look like no black lacquer.
i think it will look pretty cute with those minty green walls.
and in painting news...
i finished up some commissions yesterday and painted some more papers for you..
a big canvas commission.. 36 x 48..
morning run
for sale in the shop..
kanji
cloud cover
under the bridge
you can find the paintings here.
thanks everyone!
this isn't so much a post as it is me dumping my amassed collection of photos of interiors featuring surf boards propped against something.
because for some reason i fancy myself a surfer type person who lives 5 miles from the beach and has a tan.
instead of a pasty southerner who lives 5 miles from the busiest airport in the world.
in any case..
here you go.
pros:
-displaying a surfboard is primarily a practical thing bc where else are you going to put it?
-they are usually interesting to look at with their pretty colors and sculptural quality.
-they say hey, look at me..i surf a little, how rad is that?
cons:
-they say, hey look at me..i surf a little, how rad is that?
-they make you say things like rad probably.
-you could be an extreme douche who just likes the way they look but in reality you are scared of the ocean (me).
what do you want on a monday?
you know what i love to eat?
fucking potatoes.
i love mashed potatoes the way most people love mac and cheese.
i hate mac and cheese btw.
but i love potatoes.
sometimes when i am home alone with fiona in school and mike at work...
i will make mashed potatoes for one.
totally true.
heavy cream, butter, salt...potatoes.
i eat it while watching housewives and millionaire matchmaker.
it is my idea of heaven.
last week i upped my game and made something really awesome.
i had mushrooms and i had potatoes.
and it was cold outside.
so this happened..
head over to nicole's blog, sketch42 and read how to make it.
and then make it and enjoy the explosion in your mouth.
that's what he said.
i love when clients send me images of paintings i did for them all hung up in their homes..
amber's client.
christine's house.
alison's client.
jamie's client.
a lady with great taste.
charmaine's home.
more good taste.
and more still.
if you have a painting i did for you all hung up and happy, please send me a pic so i can feature it here.
here are some recent commissions..
want to commission something?
also-
if you're wondering about my donkey kicked ribs...
i am getting an xray today.
the pain has subsided somewhat but it's still there so i think it's more than a pulled muscle but less than cancer.
have a great weekend!
