speaking of makeup...this is a great makeup tutorial on how to wear dark lipstick. not how to apply it per se...more how to do the rest of your face to support the dark color. it's the season of the dark lip after all. all of her makeup tutorials are awesome. pro tip- if you're having trouble getting sleepy, watch them. something about her voice and the slow motion of makeup application makes me soooo sleepy.

you guys i've been doing monthly vibes posts now for exactly 1 year.
i know no one cares about a moodboard but i'd like you to know that these are my favorite things to do on this blog. probably because i really and truly start with one item that inspires me and build from there based on what the month means to me from a nostalgic and/or aesthetic pov. they take me all month to complete. also I LOVE OCTOBER! also i think making moodboards is a great stress reliever. just fyi.
check out last year's october vibes.
i wonder if you can guess which item it was that kicked off the vibe for october this time...?
it didn't/doesn't really feel right blogging about things and spaces and shoes without addressing the elephant in the WORLD.
i thought of all the things i could talk about and how to talk about them but i thought better of it when the notion that more hate could surface here on this blog. something i've been trying to avoid since 2015-ish. probably to the detriment of my blog and perhaps blogs in general. but that's another discussion for another day.

If there is any doubt that gun violence is a problem, consider these facts compiled by Vox: The U.S. has 4.4 percent of the world’s population, but almost half of the civilian-owned guns around the world; the U.S. has far more deaths from gun violence than any other developed nation in the world; there have been more than 1,300 mass shootings since Sandy Hook; on average, there is more than one mass shooting for each day in the U.S.; states with more guns have more gun deaths; and states with tighter gun control laws have fewer gun-related deaths; support for gun ownership has sharply increased since the early ’90s.

p.s. i am not interested in a debate on whether or not YOU think the gun laws are just fine or that they only hurt the responsible gun owner because you are in fact part of the problem not the solution. quite frankly there IS NO DEBATE. too many statistical facts about how banning assault rifles and making buying guns in general far more difficult have actually DECREASED the number of gun related deaths substantially. do some fuckin homework. seriously. start here. now peruse this. bottom line: more guns = more gun deaths. so make it harder for everyone to get a gun. even the "responsible" ones.
now do that text thing.

september came and went quick.
october is my favorite month so i am happy about it. ready for sweaters and hats. it's crazy hot all over so i know we are all collectively ready right?
what i am not looking forward to is cold and flu nonsense. i plan on making this soon.
i need halloween costume ideas. help. my current choice is this kangaroo costume just so i can cut out the baby and carry my wine glass in there instead.
speaking of halloween...these makeup transformations are crazy.
this wallpaper is interesting. i can't decide if i love it or hate it. maybe i just don't know how i'd use it.
this is wonderful and you're gonna need it soon.
have a great weekend all.
