spring break came and went

JENNY ANDREWS April 9, 2018

i'm doing this new thing where i drink warm water with lemon, salt and cayenne first thing in the morning. BEFORE coffee. can you even?! this is supposed to detoxify my liver and boy does it need it. once i'm drinking it i'm fine but let me tell you hot lemon water does NOT help you get out of bed the same way coffee does.

the wisteria here has come and gone and i never smelled it once. this fact has me tangibly depressed. i can't stop thinking what if i died before next spring and i'll never smell it again??!!

this is normal right?

i desperately need new clothes for warmer weather. like state of emergency need.

i just don't know where to begin. is there a list of shopping types somewhere? because my shopping type is "buys for occasion". i need to be more practical when it comes to buying. i'm like a magpie. i see a floral, a color, a cheap price on something that will work when i don't really need it and i rationalize. for example: i need a few pairs of pants that go with everything but aren't "work" pants and some t shirts and blouses and possibly a summery blazer but i will buy the trendy jumpsuit EVERY TIME. isn't there something called a capsule wardrobe? i need that i think.

i've quit dairy again. i was embracing the dairy during the keto phase. now not even butter. a little ghee in cooking i will allow. i still say dairy makes your skin look like shit. in all aspects. cellulite too. btw this is the only coffee creamer that doesn't taste terrible. it's also one of the only ones i have found that has zero sugar. it's also pretty damn creamy.

i'd like to move in here for the summer and paint and steam vegetables and drink my fucking warm lemon water.

kitchen of the day

JENNY ANDREWS April 4, 2018

i remember seeing lulu powers's home years ago in an issue of lonny. loved it obviously because it's tiny and chock full of all the things and excellent paint colors.

well yesterday jamie told me about a video series featuring the homes of some of our favorite homes. (you feel me there i know you do.) while watching the lulu powers home tour i was dying over the whole outdoor situation she has going on. i said out loud, to no one, "if i got an invite i'd never leave".

april vibes

JENNY ANDREWS April 3, 2018

voutsa / bergere chairs / polka dot wrap dress / kiehl's musk / cocktail ring /

sunburst bench / flower basket chandelier / matilda goad candles / fornasetti

saw the anthro wrap dress in person and it's good. i think it'd be perfect for a spring party. i'd wear it with espadrilles (i have these and they are VERY comfortable believe it or not) or converse.

i keep thinking one day i will find a full set of francois carre sunburst chairs for a few hundred bucks on craigslist. you- "hahahahahahaha".

i'm crazy for everything matilda goad sells.

just can't find similar candles in the states. :(

friday

JENNY ANDREWS March 30, 2018

friends it's been quite a week. one of my good friends passed away suddenly at the age of 42. not sure how...in his sleep but heart related we think. i've been sad, scared, haunted, reminded, humbled, freaked out, etc. if this were a role i was auditioning for the breakdown would read: haggard- like she hasn't slept in days, looks like she smells of alcohol and cigarettes. always wiping her sweaty palms on the tops of her pants. overall swollen appearance. heart of gold!

i'll be ok. life continues. spring is here. the birds are singing and the weather is beautiful. a welcome distractor. i'm working on a porch situation so that i can enjoy it fully. seating is there and it's excellent. pink cushions atop bamboo and rattan, fun pillows...plus plenty of surfaces for your drink. i'd like some storage though. a place for my gardening tools and whatnots. something exactly like the wardrobe pictured above. dark wood, slightly battered, vintage vibes. this one comes from everything but the house. i'm pretty obsessed with ebth. i check it every day for sales in my area and then i follow the things i like. i never bid because i always forget. but it's my first internet stop for the day. and it brings me joy.

pansies are coming to my shop. violas? i think they're the same thing. or mostly. something about the petals maybe.

i made this tofu dish and it was a winner.

i want to make this turnips and greens in miso ham broth. sounds fancy and humble.

i'm considering this kaftan. or this one. for the porch.

that's all i got. have a wonderful holiday/spring break/weekend/week.
