always on the hunt for bathing suits that fit my enormous jugs i came across malia mills.

i had filed that name in my brain's swim category before so it wasn't new to me but i was blown away by the use of women with realistic bodies modeling swimwear!  this was so far from the usual tear-soaked pages of my victoria's secret catalog. 

 

as a plus-sized girl in the boob department i was happy to see curvy women with legit cellulite modeling stylish bathing suits.  i was sold.  

 

the suits don't come cheap. that maillot up there clocks in at $360.  and most of the tops are around $250.  bottoms about $150-$250.  but to me feeling confident in a bathing suit is something you can't put a price on.  and to find quality swimwear that comes in my size (E!!) is nothing short of miraculous.  as much as i'd like to waltz into target every season and buy the newest trend in bikini, i can't.  it's like, not even a possibility.  

now which one do i choose?! i LOVE the jayne maillot (last one pictured) for bloated days at the beach.  but for bikini needs i think i go juliette top (in sequoia) with sweet okole bottom (also in sequoia).  bonus- i can totally poop my pants if i buy a brown bathing suit. 

 

you guys have a happy fourth.  don't blow your tits off with roman candles.

picnicz

the people over at red envelope contacted me and asked me if i wanted to take part in their anatomy of a picnic style guide. and well, i am nothing if not a picnic style expert so i said yes.  

i thought about what it means to make a successful picnic for approximately 7 seconds. 

 

delicious food and the perfect spot are what i came up with.  i suppose you could add in the perfect group of people but i thought that sometimes a solo picnic is even better.  and well, it can be hard to find people more awesome than yourself. 

a view, a blanket, a pillow, a good book and a box of lobster potato salad is all anyone needs to create the ultimate picnic.

i've never in my life had a proper bed.

it's always been a mattress and a box spring on top of a metal frame.  no headboard.  no foot board.  i may have had some sort of wooden, twin thing as a kid but i don't really remember which is telling me that it wasn't super great. 

and i've been sleeping on the same mattress for about 14 years.  don't tell anyone bc that's gross. 

so, yeah.  it's time for a new bed.  and mattress.  

 

i want a bed-bed.  not a headboard attached to a frame. i want a B. E. D.  upholstered probably as i want it to be soft and stuff.  i want no part of a bedskirt. 

but i have a problem with most of the beds i see.  they are either way too modern or too close to the floor, the headboard is too tall (hate that),  too tufted, too may nail heads, too girly or too $$$$$.  i don't want elaborate. i want it to lean toward modern but still be soft and feminine.  

 

i have found 2 maybe 3 that i actually like.  

they are:

i like this one probably best because it's modern but not too modern, clean-looking but still slightly feminine.  it's pretty darn expensive though.  doable but expensive. 


and..

i've always had this picked as the bed i was saving for, but lately i am side-eyeing that tufting. i am really on the fence with this one. i think it's nice but i wonder if it's too close to the floor. 


and...

cb2 supra bed

this is a platform bed which i don't like.  but i love the caning on the headboard and yet the base is what fred flintstone would look like if he were a bed.  still, i can't help but kinda like it.  

i am closer to nothing here.

i am dreaming up a project for an old dresser of mine that involves bright blue paint (somewhere between that polka dotted sofa from anna spiro up there and that door frame in the first pic) and some moroccan stencils.  why yes, i WILL go on with my bad self. 

 

it's friday and the weekend is here...what are you doing?   i am doing something kinda cool and exciting.  i am acting in a film that's part of the 48hr film project.  it involves cell phones and improv.  that's all i know.   if you aren't familiar the 48hr film project is exactly that...you make a movie in 48 hours.  i will be up til the wee hours of the morning and then shooting pick-ups tomorrow.  i am looking forward to just about every aspect of this except THAT.
