kitchen of the day

JENNY ANDREWS March 16, 2016

the whole house, decorated by rita konig, is in elle decor and it'll make you miss the old domino.

speaking of....the new domino (spring issue) is the old domino. so there's that.

i wish i had a power sprayer because i'd hose down my whole kitchen with a can of white emulsion.

floors are farrow and ball pavilion gray.

today was the day that daylight savings got me.

i was practically unconscious when my alarm went off this morning.

i spent just under 7 hours yesterday packaging all the paintings from my instagram sale.

and i am still not done. i actually ran out of tubes and had to order more. i will be taking packages in spurts to the post office over the next week so if you ordered a few paintings and only one shows up, fear not. it just means the other one didn't leave at the same time.

and if you didn't order anything...i'm sorry i keep talking about this.

also it doesn't feel like wednesday it feels like a made up day of the week...greunsday (pronounced 'groonsday')- that weird day between wednesday and thursday .

i can't decide between hillary and bernie. who else is having trouble? it's never been this hard before.

moreover it's gardening season and i feel like i need to build this.

and lastly this has been on repeat and you won't hear anything fresher.

bye.

thank you

JENNY ANDREWS March 14, 2016

this was me thurs. fri. and sat. on my phone doing celebratory high kicks while you all snatched up all my paintings in my instagram sale.

now comes the hard part. the shipping.

it's just me on this tiny ship and i have to package a lot of paintings.

i wanted to let you all know that if you bought a painting i will be shipping them out the latter half of this week.

i intend to ship the smalls and mediums first then the large.

i think my post office would karate chop my throat if i brought everything in at once...not to mention i will need a trolley to get them inside the building.

so all this to say....bear with me as i embark on this paper cutting, tape tangling, hunched back inducing packaging spree. it could be next week before you see yours.

much, much love to you all.

instagram sale part 2

JENNY ANDREWS March 11, 2016

well yesterday's sale went as well as i could hope.

everything got snatched up and man what a feeling.

it has inspired me in many ways...least of all that i should clean out more often.

i have experimental art all over the place. and more to come.

today's sale will consist of medium sized works 14 x 17, 22" round, 18 x 24 and 19 x 24.

there are far fewer pieces in this sale than yesterdays or tomorrow's large works sale.

so if you want to partake in the sale you have to follow on me instagram.

see this post for instructions.

and good luck!!

instagram sale!

JENNY ANDREWS March 9, 2016

something weird is about to happen.

weird because technology is just, weird.

i was going through my GIANT portfolio of paper paintings that dates back to 2011 and thinking i need to have a studio sale. only my studio is my dining room and not a studio at all. plus what about the people not in atlanta? they should benefit from half priced original art.

besides the majority of my clients and collectors aren't even in atlanta.

so- instagram.

so if you are interested you have to follow me on instagram.

here's how i said it on instagram:

set your clocks friends! tomorrow morning at 11AM EST the small works Instagram sale begins. here's how it will work- I will post an image of the work along with the size, medium, name, original price and sale price. if you want to purchase the work put sold with your email address in the comments. you will be sent a paypal invoice that will include shipping ($6) (if you are international please add "intl" to your comment. you will be charged $10 for shipping) you will have 24 hours to pay for your invoice or it will be cancelled and the painting resold. TIP- put sold immediately then follow up with an additional comment that includes your email! this is all first come first serve.#jaasale --------- the next sale of medium sized works will be on Friday at 11AM EST. details later today. the large works sale will take place on Saturday same time.

there will be 3 individual sales.

the small works sale tomorrow (thursday) at 11 AM EST which consists of 3 sizes: 8.5 x 11, 9 x 12 and 11 x 15.

the medium size works sale friday at 11 AM which consists of 3 sizes: 14 x 17, 18 x 24 and 19 x 24.

and the large works sale saturday at 11 AM EST which consists of 1 size: 22 x 30.

just a small sample of the available works.

so tell your art-needing friends!

see you tomorrow!

x

"that's a doll"- fiona

downton bye

JENNY ANDREWS March 8, 2016

i feel like i should say something about the final episode of probably my favorite show ever.

but i'm sort of sitting here wondering what i just watched.

it felt like riding a roller coaster straight up into infinity.

i'm not sure that's a good thing.

the truth is i never gave the end of this show much thought.

i mean no predictions or anything like that. maybe i was in denial.

i guess i knew in some way that everything was going to be wrapped up with a pretty bow,

but i didn't expect to feel like i was watching an episode of touched by an angel meets the brady bunch (daisy and that hair dryer/hair cut was 1000 shades of jan brady).

and not one but TWO illnesses?

one of which was a bit of a mystery- parkinsons? if so that's NOT NOTHING CARSON! the other incurable anemia which sounds like the exact opposite of real.

at one point i screamed "tiny tim is about to come out and say 'god bless us everyone'."

and i guess it isn't so much the predictable outcomes as the speed in which we got there.

it felt sort of like a spoof.

i was half expecting claire huxtable to come out and read larry and ameila grey.

i know in my heart i probably wouldn't have wanted anything to happen in any other way than it did happen, though i suppose if denker or amelia grey got hit by a bus i wouldn't have cared too too much (possibly preferring the claire huxtable scenario).

and i suspect i will watch this again and grow to appreciate it. (maybe?)

but the truth is i expected to at least shed some tears. ok, a LOT of tears.

yet there was only the slightest, imperceptible lump when barrow said goodbye and edith came down the stairs in her dress.

for me crying is passage into healing.

as it stands i mostly felt....nothing.

all the same, the things i will miss are the things i loved most about the show anyway...

the house. the locations. the clothes and the characters. each of them (except for bates UGH!) equally.

nothing will ever replace downton for me.

a piece of me resides inside of it. maybe you too.

what did you think?
