i am still finding it difficult to believe this morning that england is no longer a part of the eu.

nothing about that decision feels right to me.

i've been on a pimms bender lately. i mostly follow this recipe. only my condiments of choice are 2 thinly sliced pieces of cucumber, 2 thinly sliced pieces of strawberry, and 1 basil leaf (or a few mint leaves) squeezed with my fingers (self muddling).

i use fever tree brand ginger ale and about 2 1/2 ounces of pimms per drink. trust me.

that's about all i have.

happy summer!

did you know that i loathe summer?

i love the idea of summer and i usually have big plans to have "the best summer everrrrr!!".

but i just find myself struggling to find time to work and to find time to hide from my tween.

also i drink too much in the summer...anyone else have that problem? i'll live with that one though. (see tween reference)

for me summer is hard.

plus i live in the south where summer is pretty much = to walking into a dryer on the highest heat setting but there are still wet towels in there that never seem to dry.

so i pretty much live in shorts and tees.

you all know my favorite shorts. as i've blogged about them before.

madewell is my go to for tees and denim. moderately priced and mostly well made.

for tees and tanks i tend to buy the thicker weave cotton or jersey. they hold up so much better. and i wash all my tees on the delicate setting in cold water.

this tank and this one are 2 recent purchases that i love.

these shoes are deceptively comfortable.

i wear them with shorts and dresses. they really are extremely versatile.

i am drowning in portofino and amalfi most days.

i refuse to believe that booties are a fall/winter only shoe.

these are really nice and affordable. i wear them with shorts and dresses too.

2 dresses on my list!

this one is on sale and i think really flattering. so cute with a heeled sandal or more casual with these.

and this one i just love. but backless is not my friend.

pool slides. necessary. these are classic.

i'm not sure how practical wallpaper on the ceiling of a kitchen is (even if it's rose cumming wallpaper) but it's fucking spectacular.

floor and wall tiles are original to the apartment.

to say i love this kitchen would be an understatement.

i will take an english country lane over a beach any day. (except maybe in january)

i can't get this outfit out of my head.

i made this and it's a fantastic way to eat a boring ass green bean.

i also made these and they were delicious and easy. my farmer's market had annatto seed.

i don't know if any of this is true but it made me sad. she's so young! but maybe she feels inferior to gigi? they are both equally beautiful in very different ways.
