new product round-up

JENNY ANDREWS August 25, 2016

sharing some new faves here...

1. ouai treatment mask -  this stuff has made my hair better. period. i looove it. it smells really good too. makes me totally willing to jump in and try all her other stuff.

i couldn't recommend this more for softer, bouncier, shinier hair.

2. algenist genius ultimate anti-aging melting cleanser - sort of an oil meets a balm. it's super luxurious, removes every trace of make-up and smells great. also gives good glow.

3.  peter thomas roth glycolic acid 10 percent toning complex clarifying toner - total game changer. i feel like it's a gentler version of p50. it helps minimize fine lines and shrink pores. which is basically my main face peeve. you could park a car in my pores.

4. peter thomas roth camu camu vitamin c skin brightening moisturizer- for the first time in my life i have noticed fading of sun spots using an over the counter product. i didn't even buy it for that...but a few weeks after using it...there it was...my sun damage had faded. it also brightened and evened out my skin tone. i really and truly noticed results after a week and gradually more after 2. it's SUPER rich and you need a tiny amount. but i tend to be oily so if you are dry you will probably love the richness of it. i have to sometimes cut it with a spritz of rosewater.

5. alba botanica firming espresso body scrub - here's your cheap find of the day. i was out of my favorite body scrub and went into target to buy it but they were out. so i picked up this based solely on the fact that it was the only one whose smell didn't make me hurl. and i have to tell you my skin was 100% tighter looking and feeling with reduced cellulite. you have to try it.

6. glossier stretch concealer - this stuff is awesome. i am a huge fan of glossier, in that i've loved everything i've tried. plus they send you stickers when you order something.

the older i get the lighter my concealer application needs to be. and i have like, 8 concealers that i use for different reasons/skin conditions/days. i could seriously do a whole post on concealers.

the glossier stretch concealer (i use light) is really really great for under eyes. it's so light and creamy and spreadable which means the coverage is totally buildable.

until next time....

live in atlanta?

come see me playing cersei lannister in a game of thrones parody sketch show tonight at 9pm.

go here for more info.

should be really stupid in the best possible way.

5 steps to cleaning out your closet for fall. i desperately need professional help in my closet.

i called california closets but that shit is expensive. i'm not counting it out but i'd love to hear from you all if you've worked with them before and what your experience was. or if you have other closet buildout tips. the fact of the matter is i need less help in the clearing and organizing department and more help with spacial issues.

i am so ready to give this a go. anyone out there already on board?

my plastic surgeon (the one who gave me fillers) wants to charge nearly 4k for 3 sessions. i'm like...i could get perky new boobs for that price.

you can't tell me you don't want to faceplant this.

and maybe less of a faceplant situation....more of a this is what i need to do with zucchini situation.

i don't typically have people asking me for social media advice as i don't have the followers in the 10k and over range though occasionally i am asked. but moreover i am asked for design help, free paintings or deeply discounted paintings...etc. and this article addresses these awkward sitches.

i'd like to go here for labor day and stay for a week. isn't it adorable?

this one would do nicely too.

radiance boosting powder for the face? it isn't what you think and i am very intrigued.

i'm not really a big fan of yarn-y wall hangings. but this one is sorta cute and i know so many people love the wall yarn things.

and finally...

i want to make this for no other reason than it is beautiful and looks like an exercise in zen.

i may eat it. may not. definitely watch the video.

have a wonderful weekend.

fall prep

JENNY ANDREWS August 16, 2016

it's never too early for a little seasonal change inspiration shopping?

right?

sometimes it's just one new thing that can inspire an entire house cleaning. or at least the room the new thing is intended for...

kitchen looking sad? prop this beautiful teak cutting board against a wall you will be sure to see when you walk in. and then use it! watch it age beautifully. (go for the large!)

i have taken to using my good wine glasses because i have broken all my cheap wineglasses. enter the shatterproof wine glass. seriously these were made for my klutzy ass. (set of 4 only $28!)

it is still really hot here in georgia and we likely won't see fall temps until late october and yet as soon as that first cool breeze hits i will be outside with my too warm red wine.

and ice is just not ok in red wine you damn grandma. so let's all stop looking like assholes and put some wine cooling beads in our glass instead.

did you know throwing an ounce of this elderflower and rose presse into your gin and tonic will make it even more delicious?

i have always loved lanterns on a porch. i think they're so impactful and you can't kill them.

these are tall, sexy and somewhat reasonably priced. i think if you splurged on a pair you would never regret doing so.

a candle drawer?? i'm in. i am 100% obsessed with creating my own.

starting with a healthy supply of beeswax candles.

and yes, this candle sticky stuff works. i have some odd shaped vintage candlesticks and no actual candle i have found fits them. so i shave a little off the end and add some of this goop and stick they do.

can we all just agree that this biergarten table is cute?

i really don't even know if it's pumpkin planting season but the idea that all i have to do is put this bag in the ground and come october i will have monster pumpkins is really enticing.

one of these small lemon cypress topiaries is coming home with me. and if i was sure that my cats wouldn't eat or climb a large one i'd get one of those instead for the floor just to the left of my front door.

i think this rolling log basket is genius and adorable.

and just a really delightful, well sized, well priced fire pit for a small outdoor space.
