october vibes

you guys i've been doing monthly vibes posts now for exactly 1 year. 

i know no one cares about a moodboard but i'd like you to know that these are my favorite things to do on this blog. probably because i really and truly start with one item that inspires me and build from there based on what the month means to me from a nostalgic and/or aesthetic pov. they take me all month to complete. also I LOVE OCTOBER! also i think making moodboards is a great stress reliever. just fyi.

it didn't/doesn't really feel right blogging about things and spaces and shoes without addressing the elephant in the WORLD.

i thought of all the things i could talk about and how to talk about them but i thought better of it when the notion that more hate could surface here on this blog. something i've been trying to avoid since 2015-ish. probably to the detriment of my blog and perhaps blogs in general. but that's another discussion for another day.

If there is any doubt that gun violence is a problem, consider these facts compiled by Vox: The U.S. has 4.4 percent of the world’s population, but almost half of the civilian-owned guns around the world; the U.S. has far more deaths from gun violence than any other developed nation in the world; there have been more than 1,300 mass shootings since Sandy Hook; on average, there is more than one mass shooting for each day in the U.S.; states with more guns have more gun deaths; and states with tighter gun control laws have fewer gun-related deaths; support for gun ownership has sharply increased since the early ’90s.

p.s. i am not interested in a debate on whether or not YOU think the gun laws are just fine or that they only hurt the responsible gun owner because you are in fact part of the problem not the solution. quite frankly there IS NO DEBATE. too many statistical facts about how banning assault rifles and making buying guns in general far more difficult have actually DECREASED the number of gun related deaths substantially. do some fuckin homework. seriously. start here. now peruse this. bottom line: more guns = more gun deaths. so make it harder for everyone to get a gun. even the "responsible" ones.

milan fashion week

as expected it was the week of much gucci. which is fun, and i'd certainly enjoy wearing this sweater among many other things, but for me i enjoy seeing innovators on the streets. head to toe gucci just seems too easy and a little uninspired. i'd rather see 1 part gucci, 1 part asos or topshop, 1 part vintage. and models are pretty and look good in anything so i tend to not include them in my street style posts. i want someone to interpret the trends for me, in their unique way. it feeds me.

here are a few of my favorites...only one head to toe gucci look stood out to me as something i'd wear.

i think partly bc i love the silhouette and partly bc i love that sweater and skirt separately but thoroughly enjoy them together.
